Honoring Mariann Tracy: A Retirement, A New Role, and A Lasting Legacy

Some people don't just do a job, they become part of the fabric of an organization. For the Laguna Beach Police Department, Mariann Tracy has been exactly that.

After years of dedicated service as Chief Calvert's assistant, Mariann was honored for her retirement, a well-earned celebration of a career spent supporting the department from behind the scenes in ways that touched nearly every corner of it. Her commitment to the department, and to the people in it, has left a lasting impression on everyone she's worked alongside, from the Chief's office to officers on patrol to the community members she helped connect with LBPD over the years.

A Career Built on Quiet, Steady Dedication

Being the right hand to a police chief means wearing a dozen hats most people never see: keeping the department running smoothly, being a steady presence through high-pressure moments, and often being the person who makes sure things simply get done. Mariann did all of it with a level of care and loyalty that doesn't go unnoticed, even when it happens outside the spotlight.

Her retirement is a chance to recognize not just her title, but the heart she brought to it, and the trust she built with everyone from department leadership to the community she quietly served alongside.

A New Chapter: Joining the LBPCF Board

But Mariann isn't stepping away from the mission. We're thrilled to welcome her as a voting member of the Laguna Beach Police Community Foundation Board.

Her deep knowledge of the department, paired with her genuine love for this community, makes her an incredible addition to our board. Few people understand the inner workings of LBPD and the needs of its officers and families the way Mariann does. That perspective is invaluable as we continue finding new ways to support the people who protect Laguna Beach.

Congratulations, Mariann

Congratulations, Mariann, and thank you for everything you've given to Laguna Beach. Your dedication helped shape this department, and we couldn't be more excited to have you continue that work with us at LBPCF. 💙
